Legal Assistant/Secretary

Job Description

My client, a personal injury litigation law firm in Lafayette and Denver, CO is seeking a skilled legal assistant/secretary to join their team. Must have strong attention to detail, organizational skills, multitasking abilities, self-motivation, self-leadership, and be a team player. The firm is not a high-volume practice, but it is busy. Salary based upon experience with excellent, benefits including paid parking.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Answering phones
  • Conducting initial client intakes
  • Opening files
  • Ordering medical records
  • Helping get demands ready to mail (e.g. making sure exhibits are included on the Cease & Desist etc.)
  • Submitting legal filings
  • Providing litigation support - including assisting with responses to discovery requests and e-discovery and performing other duties in support of attorneys as needed.
  • Other administrative tasks such as welcoming clients and guests and scheduling meetings for the attorneys.  
 
Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in a law firm, court, or in-house legal department.
  • Proficient with technology including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word as well as Outlook.
  • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
