Litigation firm in Brentwood is looking to hire a paralegal/legal assistant for litigation and administrative support. This is a hybrid position. Our legal assistants function as paralegals, legal secretaries, file clerks, and general assistants who help answer phones and maintain the office.
Responsibilities and Duties
Principal Paralegal responsibilities include but are not limited to all aspects of litigation support:
Preparing and filing documents in state and Federal court;
Assisting attorneys with trial preparations;
Cite checking and proofreading legal pleadings;
Preparing correspondence and legal forms;
Organizing and managing documents and productions of documents;
Maintaining case calendars;
Interacting with clients and co-counsel, greeting clients and other guests; and
Other paralegal duties as they arise.
Administrative Support responsibilities include but are not limited:
Maintaining office files;
Photocopying and scanning;
Faxing, mailing correspondence, and sending overnight couriers;
Coordinating messengers and deliveries;
Answering telephones and taking and relaying messages;
Maintaining supplies; and
Other administrative duties as they arise.
At least 5 years of paralegal experience;
Paralegal Certification required;
Able to operate in a fast-paced litigation environment and support 5-7 attorneys along with other support staff;
Able to balance competing needs of several attorneys and cases;
Friendly and cooperative attitude, flexible, team player
Excellent communications skills;
Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Reader is absolutely required;
Knowledge of Concordance or other document review platforms is a plus.
