Job Description

Small boutique law firm in Sacramento is looking to add a strong Litigation Legal Assistant who is willing to perform a collection of duties. The right person will have a take-charge personality who can work with authority and autonomy, but also work well with others and delegate to others. This person needs to be intuitive and able to stay five steps ahead of the attorneys.

Legal Assistant duties:

  • Case file management
  • Calendaring deadlines(must know CA Civil code)
  • Research
  • Working knowledge of the discovery process, pleadings, subpoena preparation, propounding and responding to discovery
  • Trial preparation
  • Proofing and drafting
Office Management Duties:
  • Manage receptionist and part time clerk
  • Maintain office maintenance and ordering necessary supplies
Accounts Receivable Duties:
  • Coordinating timeslips entry and preparation of draft pre-bills
  • Prepare fee agreements
  • Monitor and track bill collections and the receipt of advance fee payments
  • Assist the bookkeeper
