Job Description

Experienced bilingual (*fluent in Spanish and English*) legal assistant/paralegal needed for busy immigration law firm. The ideal candidate has worked as a legal assistant/ paralegal in an immigration law firm, has excellent organization, communication and multitasking skills, demonstrates a can-do attitude, strong work ethic, and excels in a fast-paced environment. If you do not have immigration specific experience, and are motivated to learn, it can absolutely be done. But know the curve is steep and immigration is complicated. It requires thought, actively seeking knowledge, and a true commitment to learning. In all honesty, if you are not interested in putting in real effort to learn, this is not the job for you. This job can be intense, but incredibly rewarding. If you are the right person for this position, you will absolutely love it- and when you read the detailed description below-you will feel excited, not overwhelmed. This is not an entry level position. This firm specializes in family immigration and removal defense cases. This position works primarily with the family immigration side of our practice, and our founding partner.

Responsibilities include efficiently handling and managing all aspects of a sizeable family immigration case docket from beginning to end, including: * Completing a variety of USCIS immigration forms * Meeting and communicating with clients * Gathering supporting documentation from clients * Putting USCIS packets together * Maintaining meticulous documentation, files, and using our case management software tools effectively * Answering multi-line phone when needed as back up, transferring calls internally, and taking accurate, detailed messages * Scheduling and confirming appointments * Communicating with Senior Partner

Required skills: * Fluent in Spanish and English * Associate's degree preferred, or equivalent experience * 2+ years experience as a legal assistant / paralegal * Efficient with technology and word processing documents * Exceptional customer service and communication skills * Meticulous organization, follow-through, and attention to detail * Proven interest in serving our clients * Positive attitude, team player, lifelong learner, and highly motivated to make a positive impact. Platform Proficiencies that will be required, but can be learned: Docketwise and Podium

Hours and days are somewhat negotiable; no weekends. Pay is commensurate with experience. Parking included. Paid time off. Applicants MUST be fluent in both Spanish and English.
