Mid City based firm seeking a Litigation Legal Secretary. This is a HYBRID position that would require at least 3 days working in-office and 2 days working remotely.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Responsible for working alongside lawyers to assist them in preparing for hearings, trials, meetings, and closings.
-Research the different aspects of a particular case and identify all relevant information such as judicial decisions, legal studies, articles, and pertinent laws.
-Analyze and organize the material into written reports used by lawyers to decide the proper course of action.
-Assist in drafting legal documents such as pleadings and motions.
-Responsible for keeping track of all the necessary documentation and making it easily accessible for attorneys.
-Prepare materials for discovery and case presentation.
-Prepare documents, including legal briefs, court subpoenas, spreadsheets, and other office-related letters.
-Other duties may include scheduling client appointments and depositions, answering calls, taking notes during legal meetings/depositions and maintaining the firm's legal research references.
- Paralegal certification
- Familiar with ProLaw and iManage systems.
- Experience with E-Filing in various CA courts preferred.
- They would be paired with up to 8 attorneys, but all with varying workloads. Likely focusing on 4 to 5 at a time.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
- A highly professional appearance and demeanor.
-Experience E-filing within California, Arizona, and Nevada court systems preferred.
-Minimum of 3 years experience as a Legal Secretary.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-Excellent client service, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
-Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
-Familiar with legal terminology and government regulations.
The ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
The ability to type a minimum of 40 wpm.
This is a full time position with a 9-6 Monday- Friday Schedule with overtime available by approval only.
