Associate Attorney - Tribal Law

Location: Louisville, CO

Work Model: Primarily in-office with limited remote flexibility

Overview:

A respected Tribal Law Firm is seeking an Associate Attorney (1-5+ years of experience) to support a broad and growing Tribal and Indian Law practice. This is a general associate role designed for an attorney interested in working across multiple practice areas while supporting various partners on complex and meaningful matters impacting tribal governments and related entities.

The firm values intellectual curiosity, adaptability, and a demonstrated interest in Tribal and Native American law.

Responsibilities:

The Associate Attorney will support partners and senior attorneys across a range of matters, which may include:

  • Representation of tribal governments and tribal entities
  • General counsel advisory work
  • Civil and administrative matters
  • Regulatory and compliance issues
  • Tribal governance, sovereignty, and business matters
  • Legal research, drafting, and writing in support of active matters

Responsibilities will vary based on experience and interest, with opportunities to gain exposure across multiple practice areas and develop specialization over time.

Qualifications:

J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school

1-5+ years of legal experience

Licensed or eligible for licensure in Colorado or another U.S. jurisdiction

Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills

Demonstrated interest in Indian / Tribal Law (through coursework, clerkships, prior practice, internships, or related experience)

Ability to effectively support multiple partners and manage competing priorities

Litigation or judicial clerkship experience is a plus, but not required

Collaborative, organized, and eager to learn

Compensation & Benefits:

Base salary $85,000-$126,000

Travel may be required on a case-by-case basis, depending on client needs, conferences, and assigned matters
